If you have suffered personal injury resulting directly from a motor accident you may be entitled to claim benefits from the MAIB.
The MAIB provide a range of no fault benefits which include:
a) Reasonable medical costs, including the services of doctors and health professionals;
b) Ambulance transport and hospital treatment;
c) Allowances for loss of income, and the inability to perform housekeeping duties;
d) Funeral expenses;
e) Death benefits; and
f) Reasonable travel costs to attend medical treatment where the distance travelled exceeds 20kms one way.
If MAIB has assessed your claim and it is determined that you have an entitlement to benefits, then benefits are payable in accordance with the Motor Accidents (Liabilities and Compensation) Regulations 2000.
